Tiger Tourney Rules
1. Unless otherwise specified, NOHA and Hockey Canada rules apply.
2. No body checking in all divisions.
3. All games will consist of three 10 minutes stop time periods.
4. 1 point will be awarded for each period won and 2 points for the win, for a possible 5 points.
5. If two or more teams are tied in points, a winner will be identified applying the following tie breaking criteria:
- · Goals For / Goals Against Percentage. See chart in Arena; if still tied;
- · Least penalty minutes; if still tied;
- · Time of first goal between tied teams; if still tied;
- · Winner will be determined by coin toss.
6. In the event of a tie in a final and/or championship game, Sudden Death Overtime will be:
- · 5 minutes of 4 on 4 hockey, stop time; if still tied;
- · 5 minutes of 3 on 3 hockey, stop time; if still tied;
- · Shoot out. Each team will designate 3 shooters to take 1 shot each. If still tied after 3 shooters, each team will designate another shooter (sudden death) until a winner is declared. No player shall shoot twice unless the roster has been exhausted.
- · Note: All penalties will be carried into overtime. During overtime teams can only change on the fly.
7. Mercy Rule: If at the start of the third period of any time during the 3rd period, a 5-point spread occurs, straight time commence. Should the deficit again become less than points, stop time will resume. All the penalties issued during straight time shall be 3 minutes in duration. If stop time is re-instated during the serving of a penalty the time remaining will not be adjusted.
8. Home team will change jerseys in the event of conflicting colors.
9. Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes prior to their scheduled times.
10. Teams will shake hands at the beginning of the game.
11. Any player who receives 3 penalties during a game will be removed for the remainder of that game.
12. Tournament committee decisions are final; appeals are not allowed.
